Well this is the first "Big" cake I attempted. It was for my cousins baby shower. The monkey and frog are made of MM fondant as well as the initials and they are on 3 MM fondant baby blocks which are decorated with buttercream.
Well if you notice the look of a lean, it was actually extremely warm on that day in March, and this particular baby shower was outide, and this food table was about ten feet from an open door. I think it was more melting than leaning, but some of both was going on. This one was very tricky because the middle of the top one was actually unsupported since the blocks are angled. After I set up, I actually had to place a dowell under the board for extra stability. The cake was a huge hit though, and I was very proud of it being my first fondant, stacked construction, and figure modeling attempts.
Well, I think it looks AWESOME!! You did a really good job. : ) Keep on posting! I love following your blog. Maybe following yours will convince me to start posting to mine! haha..
Hey Yall!! Thank you so much for checking out my blog. This little project is a long time coming. I am an ametuer cake decorator who took a wilton class a couple of years ago and I have been hooked ever since. I am from southern Alabama and when I say southern, I mean 30 minutes from beach, southern and I am sure that will be evident on this blog.I have two great kids, a loving husband, and two awesome stepkids that keep life interesting, not to mention that is alot of birthdays, ball teams, and holiday functions, so you can imagine where the need for a cake decorator in the family comes in.I currently work a full time job so this is something I do in my spare time. Again thank you for checking my stuff out and if I can create something special for you, please email me. Don't forget to subscribe to my blog so you can stay updated on the latest cute creations!!
